Thad & Chaya Berrey
Thad Berrey is excited to be joining the ministry at The Anchorage camp as Program Director. Thad and his wife, Chaya, have been married since 2005, and they have eight daughters: Karis, Alana, Eden & Shonna, Ani Rose, Faith, Haven, and Selah. Thad graduated from Bob Jones University with his M.Div., and has been serving at Calvary Baptist Church in Hampton, GA, for the last 20 years (5 years as youth pastor and 15 as the senior pastor). Calvary Baptist Church was “home” and “family” and it was very difficult to leave, but after much prayer and counsel, believing this step to be God’s will, Thad is currently in the process of moving to NC. Thad has always had a special place in his heart for The Anchorage Camp, since he worked here as a counselor during college, and he has stayed connected over the years, bringing campers from Calvary and attending pastors’ retreats. Thad’s summer working as a counselor made a long-term impact in his heart and life as he saw God working both in him and through him. He has been bringing campers to camp ever since because he has seen the difference that a week of camp that is focused on God and His Word can make in a young person's life. He brings a passion to help believers practically apply God’s Word in their lives, to train young men and women to reach others, and to see people of all ages grow spiritually…taking the next spiritual step.
David & Jeannie Ulrich
David and Jeannie Ulrich have been serving at The Anchorage for over 40 years. Among her many duties, Jeannie directs the food preparation and service, serves as pianist for much of the program, and is a wise and caring friend to the many camper and staff girls she contacts on a daily basis. David oversees and directs the ministry, developing facility and vision, and continues to be active in the daily program operation. “I am always amazed at the way the facility has grown from rustic to comfortable over the years, and thoroughly enjoy planning for new improvements. However, I absolutely thrive on the way that God uses His Word at this place to impact hundreds of lives for eternity. It has been my great privilege to be involved long enough to see how many of those lives were changed and new families were forged and affected because of His work here. “
Dakota and Kristina Ross were married in May 2021 and began working full-time at the Anchorage in January 2022. Dakota graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biblical Counseling in May 2021. He now serves as the Facility Maintenance Manager where he keeps up with the day to day projects to keep the camp running. Kristina graduated from Bob Jones University as well with a degree in Child Development in December 2021. She is the Kitchen Manager where she handles operations in the kitchen and dining room and works with summer staff and volunteers. Since they have worked for a combined total of 11 summers before beginning full time positions, both Dakota and Kristina's love for the camp has grown; they look forward to the many years of service ahead.
Dakota & Kristina Ross
Dave and Raquel have served for more than 24 years at Calvary Baptist Church of Cheraw, SC, first as assistant pastor, and as pastor since 2002. Dave became associated with the camp in spring of '99 and has served on the board since 2007. They and their children have been highly involved in many phases of the camp as seasonal staff, as frequent volunteers in many programs, and as trusted advisors in all phases of the operations.
